A device programmer, also called "chip programmer" or "circuit programmer", is a tool for transferring data into programmable integrated circuits, such as ROMs, EPROMs, EEPROMs, Flash Memory, GALs, PALs, PLDs, CPLDs, FPGAs, and microcontrollers. This forum is for discussions about features and issues of universal device programmers, such as the GALEP-5 and GALEP-5D programmers from Conitec.

Programming devices with JTAG interface
      #482 - 04/11/08 10:24 AM

GALEP-5 and GALEP-5D can program MCU or FPLA devices with JTAG interface even when they don't yet appear in the device list.

Load the SVF script generated by the device compiler into the GALEP buffer. Now select SPECIAL\JTAG\SVF PLAY and start F3/Program. The device help gives you the diagram for connecting the socket pins to the in-circuit device.
