A device programmer, also called "chip programmer" or "circuit programmer", is a tool for transferring data into programmable integrated circuits, such as ROMs, EPROMs, EEPROMs, Flash Memory, GALs, PALs, PLDs, CPLDs, FPGAs, and microcontrollers. This forum is for discussions about features and issues of universal device programmers, such as the GALEP-5 and GALEP-5D programmers from Conitec.

I am considering purchasing a GALEP4 programmer to program PAL chips. I need to read the program from a known good chip and burn it to new chips. The current program is on LATTICE PALCE22V10Q-25PC/4 24 pin skinny DIP chips. Will the GALEP4 read the program from this chip? Also, can I burn the program to a LATTICE GAL22V10-15LP?

As far as I know the PALCE22V10 is from AMD, not LATTICE. But both devices are in the GALEP-4 device list, so you should be able to read and program them.
