Some time ago I wrote a plug in for MED that allows for custom primitives i.e. you can specify how many sides, radius, size, resolution, etc. of the basic plane, double sided plane, cube, sphere, cylinder, cone, and torus primitives.
I think this functionality has been added to the current MED beta so I don't know how useful this plug in would be.
If there is enough interest I can make it available for an ftp download.

Please do upload! It could be a common but usefull feature for me...and I don't want to waist another half year waiting for the new MED
.
Thanks!

I think it will take some time for the new update being released, an who knows if your plugin has lower funcitonality than it? Maybe it has even better UI
if you won't make a download available, please send it to me by mail ( sinthoras05[at]gmx.de )
Ty in advance

Ok, here is the link...
http://home.bellsouth.net/p/PWP-jsnydstrupPut the medPowerPrimitives.dll into your med_plugins folder and start MED. You should now have a new menu option called 'powerTools'. It works with the current version of MED and at least one and perhaps two versions back. I wrote it last year and was thinking it wasn't complete but most of it appears to be in working order.
Good luck and don't blame me if your computer blows up.

It seems there is a problem with downloading this file.
Code:
Sorry, the BellSouth Personal Web Page or file you're looking for is not here.
It seems to work now after being zipped. Perhaps Bellsouth won't let you directly download and .exe or .dll??? Its a freebie ftp site what do you expect..lol.

Re: MED Primitives Plug In - 08/23/05 08:49
it´s working with my med...very usefull tool!
Thats odd I'm using 6.24 and it works fine...
I put a couple screen shots on my ftp site that shows where it should show up and how the interface looks.
Make sure the dll goes into the med_plugins folder...the same folder that holds PiTestTool.dll, BnTrans.dll, etc.
Efrint:
What version of MED are you useing?

Re: MED Primitives Plug In - 08/23/05 13:15
Great tool, thanks James! Only thing I miss is a "delete" buton...that would avoid the switching (cause I can only edit in MED when I close the plugin). I'm not sure if the new MED is coming with such usefull features...therefor I think it would be worth to get the above mentioned problem fixed!
Thanks again!
@those who dont get the plugin to work: Install the mfc42d.dll into your system32 folder (you can find it in Andrés treemaker-plugin
http://www.coniserver.net/ubbthreads/sho...part=7&vc=1 ).

Hey James. Looks very useful -thanks. May I suggest you add it to the index or the Wiki or Acknex? Just so it doesn't get lost in here.

Re: MED Primitives Plug In - 08/25/05 06:53
hi,
IF someone should have also problems with the dlls.
Because the compilation was going over the old microsoft dlls. It is necessary
to copy the original used dlls in the system32 folder.
I had a newer version(2004) of this dlls installed and the plugin doesnt work.
After replaced by the older(1998) versions it works very well.
