The Bible Game

I have been working on and off at a free Bible quiz game for several years now. It's in the style of "Who wants to be a millionaire", but it can be played with teams and even entire churches. I managed to finish the game a few days ago, and I thought that some of you may be interested in seeing/testing it.

I look forward to hearing what you think about The Bible Game, warts and all laugh

Interesting, I got to 32000. I was very confident in myself at first, but sadly the questions got very difficult, very fast. But I am happy that I know my score would be higher than most of the atheist heathens on this forum. laugh Especially jcl I know my score would be higher than his grin

Don't feel bad, 32K points is a great score for your first try. Truth be told, we played this game with the entire church several times and only a few teams got to 1,000,000 points. I am confident that JCL can get a good score as well. I think he read the Bible a few decades ago, though I may be wrong...

Lol i think you need to do more than just read the Bible a few times, those questions are HARD. You would need a photographic memory to remember some of those details. But I am more inspired to study Bible for the sake of trivia now after playing your game, normally I study it only for spiritual growth, and I memorize certain passages, but I think if I study a little harder now because it will also help my spirituality. Now all I need is someone to quiz me on my Hebrew and Greek, and then I know my score will be low. Do you study any of those ancient languages? I also really like the website I think maybe you should consider getting it on steam as well? I will recommend it to a few friends of mine and I will play it again and give you better feedback later. It is a well constructed game and good looking graphics and sound and I will play again because I want to get to the 1000000, but the problem with that is if I replay it often I will simply memorize the answers. How many questions are in the game? I would love to see what a top tier question would be

Thank you a lot for the feedback. I know some of the questions are hard, but their difficulty increases progressively. You've gotten a good score, managing to answer 10 out of 15 questions on your first try. It's true that some of the hardest questions focus on details, and one of my goals with this game was to encourage people to read and study the Bible seriously. I finished my studies at the Baptist University of Theology in Bucharest two years ago; I struggled with ancient Hebrew, and I learned some Greek. Fortunately, you can study the Bible seriously without knowing those ancient languages; (almost) all you need is the KJV+ (the "+" matters) translation, which translates/explains every single word.

I thought about selling the game, but then I thought that anyone who wants it should have access to it for free, even those who can't afford it. I know that "free" is perceived as having no value, and several pastors told me I should charge for the game. Still, I believe that if God moves the hearts of people, they will support the game's further development anyway. Thank you for considering the idea of recommending the game to your friends.

There is an in-game "Help" button in the upper left corner of the screen; it shows the basics, but it may be enough. The full manual is also bundled with the game; just click the "Help" button after starting the game. And don't worry about memorizing the answers; there are about 1,800 questions as of today. A 1,000,000 question would sound like this: "What Bible book doesn't mention the name of... (put a well-known Bible character name here)". That's just one of the question types, of course.
