Tower

Q: How many people does your team have?

A: Not so much a team; it is me working in the afternoons and on Sunday, and my good friend Jon Lemerond sending me art assets when I need them.

Q: How did you come up with this original concept?

A: My mind wandered when I was getting my hair cut. The idea of blasting blocks that were coming down came to mind. I would later change that to having them emerging from the ground like a tower. I always thought I would come up with a better name than that.

Q: What was the most complicated part of the code and how did you do it?

A: Nothing really. Everything seemed pretty much easy or just time consuming.  Making the menu code was the most boring task.

Q: What features do you plan to add to the final version?

A: The online high score system.

Q: How will your "upload score to the internet" feature work?

A: It will use the mysql system made by "Destop"  from the 3dgs forum.

Q: Did you start looking for a publisher?

A: Not yet. I want to have the game in its final form first.

Q: Can you recommend a few freeware or low cost tools that would come in handy for any game developer?

A: The Gimp is the first that comes to mind; it's a free version of Photoshop. I consider 3DGS to be a cheap tool. The AUM is an excellent free tool. I have learned a lot from many issues. As an example, the timer code from my game is a modified snippet from AUM.

Q: Please give us a few tips for the beginners.

A: "Try and break it."  So many people are worried about starting something new because they are afraid they will mess something up. Well if you're trying to break it, you don't have that fear. You'll learn far more about what the limits are and when you need to stop.

Thank you a lot, Fox Hound.
