Multisession

Just imagine yourself running out of ammo and being chased on a long hallway. Bullet by bullet your armor decreases, your health is close to zero; you know you will be dead in a few seconds… but wait! There’s a door here, in this dark corner! You open the door, run through it and find yourself in a forest, on another server, playing another part of the game or another game! Can you imagine this? It looks like the folks at Conitec have managed to imagine it, because this extremely hot feature is in the beta now!

Detail blocks

I would call them “weird” blocks, but weird in a good way. These blocks aren’t included in the BSP tree so the portal count is kept at a low value. The drawback is that these detail blocks don’t “block” the view so if you plan to hide complex architecture behind them, you can’t. These blocks are perfect for those rounded doors or corners – using detail blocks for this prefab door I have decreased the portal count from 401 to 328 in the office level.


Ent_preload

This instruction pre-allocates video memory for sprites or models; you won’t notice any delay when the entities are seen for the first time.

Extra Edition screen resolution

The maximum screen resolution for A5 Extra Edition is now 1024x768. What can I say? If I wouldn’t be a proud A5 pro owner, I would buy A5EE right now!
